Before you can move forward with any type of mind-body weight loss program, you first need to know what you want your life to look like. Why? Because you will start changing the way you look and feel about your life. I suggest starting with a simple trick or technique called Millionaire Brainstorming. This technique will help you expand your thinking beyond today's dollars and cents.
Here's how it works. Take out a blank piece or paper and a pen and start brainstorming on this question:."Ask yourself if you had a millions of dollars, what would your day to day life look like?" Write down everything that comes to mind. See if you can get 50 or more ideas down. Don't forget the material things?that new bright red BMW convertible, a diamond solitaire, a house on the lake.
You name it! Remember the nonmaterial wants and desires too, such as vacations, education, weight loss, donations.Once you have a complete list that you are happy with, we can edit it. First cross off anything that you don't REALLY want. Now let's review.
Circle ten items that you REALLY want to accomplish in this lifetime. You absolutely do not want to die without completing or getting these things into your life. Ask yourself, "If I found out I was going to die, what would I regret?".
OK. Did you do that?.Now let's prioritize -- the 1 being the most important and 10 being the least important. Once you have completed prioritizing, ask yourself this simple question.
"What can I do today to get me closer to achieving this life dream?" Maybe this dream needs to be broken down into a dozen smaller dreams? If it does, then break it down. Then look at your 3 month, 12 month and 3 year plan. It is important to get very clear on what you are trying to accomplish, or you will just wander around with day-to-day tasks and not accomplish a thing.
OK. Put that to one side. Let's do some deeper work now.What do you want your ideal life to look like? What do you want to be when you grow up? Think about where you will live? What will you look like? Who your family will be? Who your friends will be? What kind of house will you have? What will you do for fun? What will your daily schedule look like? Include all the possible details you can. See the pictures on your wall, the garden in the back and even your flooring. Be sure to include all of your dreams from the previous Millionaire Brainstorming technique.
Start NOW. That's right. What can you do today to start living your dream life? You may not have a gardener, but you may be able to plant some seeds for your dream garden..
